You may have even caught his rants on the BBC’s Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. And, now we get to hear the temperamental toque curse in our very own territory, as Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood opens next week. We couldn’t imagine a more fitting venue for the famed Brit’s first West Coast post. Balancing out the Anglo angle, the David Collins-designed interiors bring to mind Old Hollywood. Likewise, the menu merges Ramsay’s signature Euro haute cuisine with California flavors and ingredients. Taste the West Coast halibut with Kumamoto oysters and Champagne velouté or the Rack of Sonoma lamb with olive crusted fingerlings. Or, savor the fresh sushi - a concession to our tuna tartar-obsessed city. Adding a bit of spice to the mix, rumor has it that the winner of this season’s Hell’s Kitchen will automatically be designated the senior sous chef, regardless of any regrets Ramsay may have.
